West Valley boys dominate at the track for the Region VI meet

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - This past weekend the Region VI teams competed on the track and field with many athletes besting their personal records.
We first start in the boys' division, as Justin Cummings took home the gold in the 100 meter dash by .02 seconds for the West Valley Wolfpack.​
Jomar Perez took second for West Valley and Nathan Walsh took the bronze for the Monroe Catholic Rams.​
Walsh got his revenge in the 200 meter with a time of 24.03 seconds for Monroe.​
For the Eielson Ravens, Aric Styles grabbed the 400 meter gold with a time of 54.09 seconds.​
In the 800, Camron Herron scored the win for the Wolfpack by eight seconds, and he also took the 1600.​
In fact West Valley had the top six runners in that event.​
Herron then completed the hat trick with the gold in the 3200.​
For the 110 meter hurdles, Toby Tristan struck gold for Eielson.​
In the 300 hurdles, Terrell Johnson grabbed the top spot by less than a second.​
The 4x100, 4x400 and the 4x800 relays were won by the Wolfpack, as Eielson took the 4x200.​
For shot put and discus, Merrick Stacy took home first for the red and gold, while Terrell Johnson returned to win the high jump and long jump events.​
Jhon Rhones claimed the triple jump for the Lathrop Malemutes.​
Tomorrow we will have the girls' results from the Lathrop meet.
