FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Now let's take a look at 2019 ASAA baseball tournament field.
We start with the West Valley Wolfpack who are the top team out of the MAC Conference.
The red and gold are now in the big dance and they face the second team out of the Cook Inlet Conference, taking on the West Anchorage Eagles.
West Valley will look to improve on their seventh place finish last year, while the Eagles make their return to the tourney since 2010 when they took fourth.
The Wolfpack spoke about their expectations for the state tournament.
Jacob Angaiak said, "I think I can speak for all of us that we are really excited, and this is one of the best baseball teams I've ever been on and played on so really excited and trying to make some noise down at state. We just all bonded together, a lot of us have played together a lot like in the past years and just we like each other as a group and it's just a lot of fun to get along. We take state, yeah."
That matchup is set for 1:00 P.M. on Thursday in Anchorage.
Meanwhile the North Pole Patriots are in the tournament as the second team from the MAC, and they are taking on the top squad out of the Cook, the Chugiak Mustangs.
North Pole took seventh last year, while the Mustangs took fourth.
In fact both these teams battled in the consolation bracket that came down to the last out, with Chugiak winning 5-4.
North Pole spoke about heading to state once again.
Wyatt Kammer said, "We're pretty excited, first time we've had a good like going good for the last two years and a very long time for North Pole. Everything is going good and if we keep on just playing baseball and clean some of the stuff up from regionals we should be alright."
Gavin Fischer said, "It's pretty awesome from working day one in the gym to showing out on the field it's pretty amazing, but yeah our bats we got to pick those up."
This game is at 7 P.M. tomorrow in Anchorage.
