West Valley, Delta and Hutch prepare for state softball

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2019 ASAA state tournament for softball starts tomorrow with three Interior teams competing.
The West Valley Wolfpack are in Pool B alongside the Dimond Lady Lynx and the Chugiak Mustangs.​
Pool play will help decide the seedings for the tournament.​
The Wolfpack will play the Lady Lynx at 10 A.M. on Thursday first, and then take on the Mustangs at 5 P.M.​
In Pool A, there is the South Anchorage Wolverines, the East Anchorage Thunderbirds and the Wasilla Warriors.​
East defends their title with the top six teams in the state battling it out tomorrow.​
In the Division II group stage, the Delta Junction Huskies ended up in Pool B with the Sitka Wolves and the Kodiak Bears.​
They start with a 12:15 P.M. matchup against the Wolves then face the Bears at 5 P.M.​
On the other side in Pool A is the Hutchison Hawks.​
The Hawks got in after the North Pole Patriots withdrew from the postseason tournament, sending Hutch as the second team out of the MAC conference.​
They will take on the likes of the Ketchikan Kings and the Homer Mariners.​
The Hawks' spoke about heading to state.​
Nevaeh Reese said,"Pretty excited for playing softball in a different place and also to like spend time as a team. It's kind of little bit nerve racking just because you don't how you are going to do."​​
Jayda Russell said,"It's kind of just like wow, like I'm still in awe of it cause originally I was like I don't know how we're going to do but I'm really excited to go now. I didn't even know actually, I was the one person who didn't know that we were even in the running to go to state. As soon as they told us I was like, are you serious? Are you kidding? Like I was like, I didn't know."​
