FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) The University of Alaska Fairbanks' most prolific scorer on the ice was recognized by the league for his outstanding performance in 2019-20. The Western Collegiate Hockey Association released their All-League teams Monday, tabbing Nanooks forward Steven Jandric to the All-WCHA First Team.
No Nanook was more effective at helping put the puck in the net than Jandric. The Prince George, British Columbia-native tallied team-highs of 13 goals, 20 assists and 33 points. His conference stat line of 13-18-31, rank fourth, second and third respectively in the WCHA. Jandric strung together an impressive point-streak during the season, generating a goal and/or an assist in 12 straight games dating from January 11 through March 6. That streak included a natural hat trick against the University of Alaska Anchorage in game three of the Governor's Cup series, where he scored three straight goals in the third period alone.
Jandric has registered 80 career points in 107 games skating for the Blue and Gold, exceeding all of his teammates, including the 2020 senior class in career scoring.
Fifteen Nanooks, including Jandric, were named to the WCHA All-Academic Team, awarded to student-athletes who "have completed one year of eligibility at his present institution prior to the current academic year with a grade point average of 3.0 or above for the prior two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his overall GPA is 3.0 or better for all terms at his present institution."

Kyle Marino (Senior, Forward, Niagara Falls, Ont.) The 2019-20 Nanooks won 16 games this season, their most as a program in five years. They also clinched home ice for the opening round of the WCHA playoffs for the first time in 2014 and extended their Governor's Cup title streak to an astonishing 11 consecutive years over their in-state rivals, UAA.
