FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The West Valley Wolfpack played the North Pole Patriots in a non-conference matchup during the West Valley tournament.
The Wolfpack dominated in this game, winning 64-37 over the Patriots behind the top scoring from Terrell Peter who finished with 22 points.
Both teams were tied up at 12 apiece after the first quarter, but West Valley turned it around in the second quarter by scoring 20 and holding the Patriots to only five.
Kenny Peterson was very efficient form the free throw line, going 9-12 on his way to 23 points for North Pole.
The Wolfpack scored 24 shots within the arc, as their defense held to Pats to only 10 of them.
This was also the first game for the Wolfpack under new Head Coach Colton Growden, as they roll into matchup tonight against South Anchorage while the Pats will look to rebound against the Valdez Buccaneers.
Terrell Peter spoke after the match about the win and his new coach.
"You know it was good, coming off a bad win, bad loss actually at state and hopefully come back this year and get some wins," said Terell Peter. "Well, I really like him because coaching last year was all right. But this year, I am excited to see what he brings to the table and hopefully he can lead us to success. It's been, I like the competition."
