FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2019 ASAA state tournament is still on going with four Interior teams battling down in Anchorage.
We start with the West Valley boys' soccer program that won 1-0 over the South Anchorage Wolverines.
The Wolfpack needed every bit of their defense to beat South, including a clutch penalty kick save by Kristaps Bareika in the final two minutes of the second half.
They now face the West Anchorage Eagles in the state semifinals at 7 P.M. at Service High School.
The North Pole Patriots girls' program bounced back from their opening round loss to the Kenai Central Kardinals with a 2-0 victory over the Kodiak Bears.
They now face the Palmer Moose to decide the fourth place team at state.
This game is at 9:45 A.M. at Eagle River High School.
The Monroe Catholic Rams had a tough start to their tourney run, falling 4-1 to the Thunder Mountain Falcons.
Monroe lost 4-1 to the Falcons, sending them into a matchup against the Palmer Moose.
And they took care of business to win 3-1 over Palmer to advance to the fourth place match.
There they await the winner of the Homer Mariners and the Grace Christian Grizzlies.
