The Monroe Catholic Rams sweep the North Pole Patriots to start the season

Fairbanks, Alaska The Monroe Catholic Rams volleyball program started their season with an impressive sweep over the North Pole Patriots.
As they can thank both Marian Nelson and Camille Lesko for their work on the defensive end.
Both of them combined for 25 digs on the night, as the Rams won 25-18, 25-15 and 25-15 over the Pats.
The setters were very important in this matchup as Pamela Noll dished out 13 assists, while Tia Campaneli kicked in 10.
Madeline Muramoto got 7 kills to help pace the Rams.
For the Patriots, they got some good production from Sydney Teel who led them with 8 kills and 2 service aces.
Ainsley Smith led the entire game with 18 assists on the night and also chipped in 3 aces.
The Patriots look to rebound with a match against the Hutchison Hawks on Thursday, while Monroe will host the Delta Junction Huskies to kick-off Aurora Conference volleyball.
