The Lathrop Malemutes fall in the semifinals to Eagle River

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Lathrop Malemutes may have fallen in the semifinals to Eagle River, but they have accomplished a lot in their 2018 campaign.
They won the Mayor's Bowl, the Dog Bowl and conquered the Railbelt Conference to make the playoffs.
And they can hang their hats on that.
The Malemutes fell 30-24 against the Wolves, as Eagle River connected on a game winner with less than two minutes left in the game.
Lathrop as a team held leads throughout it, especially when Jhon Rones put the Wolves in the spin cycle on a 45 yarder to give Lathrop the two score lead.
However, they couldn't withstand the rally that Eagle River displayed.
They now head into the off-season with questions on what positions they will fill, as majority of their key contributors are seniors.
