FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Lathrop Malemutes had a DI program in their sights this past weekend, and they did not disappoint.
The Mutes silenced the Dimond Lynx throughout the night to improve to 2-0.
Lathrop was on the attack, wrecking havoc on the Lynx defensively to win 53-16.
Corbin Tomaszewski hounded Dimond along with the defensive line, as the Lynx had no time to generate much offense.
Deondric Henderson took one to the house on an interception, showing that Lathrop's defense is ready to make a run through the Railbelt Conference.
The offense also had a strong showing as Bubba Maschmeier got 140 yards and a touchdown, and Jayden Littell threw for 129 yards along with 3 TDs.
The Malemutes now run into Week 3 with a match against the Soldotna Stars.
Both squads are ranked, and this should be an entertaining match-up here in town.
