The Joe "T" Classic is underway with two of our Interior teams battling on the courts

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Joe T Classic started on Day One with the Monroe Catholic Rams taking on the Kodiak Bears for both varsities.
The girls' program fell short to the Bears, losing 41-36.
Katie Bast led the Rams with 16 points hitting three 3s, while Grace Hodges chipped in 12 on the day.
The Rams nearly made a comeback after falling 14-5 in the first quarter to Kodiak.
They face Lathrop tonight for Day 2.
The boys' team on the other hand won 49-40 over the Bears thanks to Isaac Garcia's 16 points.
Both Gabe Silas and Izak Lohrke chipped in a combined effort of 23 points, as they carried their momentum throughout the match.
They get ready for the last game of Day 2 when they face the Lathrop Malemutes.
The Malemutes faced off against the Kenai Central Kardianls, as a freshman for the girls' program showcased her prowess against any defense.
Lathrop won 49-40 thanks to Torrin Johnson Oates who scored 17 points against Kenai.
Ella Roberts dropped 17 as well giving Lathrop a potent duo heading into the rest of the Joe T Classic.
The boys' team didn't have the same success as they fell 75-72 to the Kardinals, as Tyriq Luke led the Malemutes with 15 points.
Both program will play Monroe tonight for Day 2 of the Joe T Classic.
