The Ice Dogs take Game 1 over Kenai

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs kickstarted with their series against the Kenai River Brown Bears with a strong victory in the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
The Ice Dogs won 3-1 over the Brown Bears thanks to their offense pressuring the other side of the ice.​
Fairbanks fired off 40 shots, and it finally paid off with about 30 seconds left in the first period as Matt Koethe found the back of the net.​
Then early in the second, John Stampohar scored to put the Ice Dogs up 2-0 58 seconds into the second period.​
Brenden MacLaren then scored in the beginning stages of the final frame to put the final nail in the coffin.​
Mattias Sholl once again helped Fairbanks secure the victory with a great performance in between the pipes.
