The Fairbanks Ice Dogs take Game One against the Janesville Jets

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs kick started their three game series with an impressive victory over the Janesville Jets at the Big Dipper Ice Arena.
The Ice Dogs won 3-0 after their goalie Mattias Sholl had another shutout in front of the home crowd, getting 34 saves on the night.​
In fact, Sholl has three straight victories and back to back shutouts in between the pipes for Fairbanks.​
The Ice Dogs got the scoring going thanks to a goal from Tyler Deweese in the opening period.​
They then closed the door on the Jets in the final frame, as Laker Aldridge and Luke Ciolli both scored to give Fairbanks the three goal lead.​
Their offense was on fire against Janesville, as they had 53 shots.​
The special teams were also up to the task as they faced four penalty kills and gave up no goals to the Jets.​
Both Aldridge and Deweese spoke after the game about setting the tone in this series.
"Oh yeah definitely get the weekend started but you know it's going to be a tough rest of the weekend with four big points on the line we're in first nd we need to protect first place," said Deweese.
"I mean it's always good to start off with a win you know Mattias played outstanding, he won us that game it feels good to win the first game," said Aldridge.
