FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Eielson Ravens are back on top of the Division III football landscape, as the Dirty Birds reclaimed the title with a dominating defense over the Barrow Whalers.
The Ravens claimed their sixth overall title, beating Barrow 36-0 to cap off a phenomenal season for Eielson.
They kept the Whalers in check with their punishing rushing attack and daunting defense.
In fact, the Dirty Birds didn't allow a single point in the playoffs.
Ryan Armour had himself a game on his last go around with the Ravens, as he returned a block field goal 83 yards for a touchdown, and also added big plays on the ground with three rushing TDs.
His running mate Jayden Manibusan ran in an 81 yarder to break Barrow's spirit.
The Dirty Birds reign supreme, as they also say goodbye to long time assistant Don Fry.
Armour spoke about this joyous occasion on his team winning it all.
"It's a lot of relief, a lot of happiness and a little bit of sadness, as this our last game. But most of it is happiness that we went through an entire season overcoming adversity and all that other big stuff," said Armour.
