The Alaska Nanooks sweep the San Francisco State Gator Invite

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks stand tall so far this season at 2-0 thanks to some top notch performances from their guards to help new Head Coach Kerri Nakamoto start off with a pair of nice victories.
The Nanooks got off to a great start in the San Francisco State Gator Invite with a close 68-65 victory over the San Francisco State Gators and they can thank their dynamo guard Sabrina Ungaro.
Ungaro had quite the stat line with 19 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
She shot 60 percent from downtown to help propel the Nooks in their first regular season matchup.
With about 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Emily Evans hit the game winning three, and Kylie Wallace hit a free throw with a second left to ice the game.
Marian Wamsley also chipped in 18 points on 7-11 shooting, and Wallace 15 points and 8 rebounds.
In their next matchup, the Nanooks faced off against the Holy Names Hawks.
The Nooks dominated the Hawks through three quarters and held off a furious rally to win 79-72.
And let's just say, that Kylie Wallace was on top of it, with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists and did it on 9-15 shooting.
Sabrina Ungaro played 40 minutes and helped with 14 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
The Nanooks have been very impressive on rebounds, outrebounding opponents 80-64 in two games.
Their next stop is in Anchorage for the Seawolf Hoops Classic where they will face the Dominguez Hills Toros and the East Bay Pioneers this upcoming weekend.
