The Alaska Nanooks split their series with Loyola Marymount University

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks swimming program had their last home meet of the season with a series against Loyola Marymount University.
The Nooks split the series taking Day 1 with the score of 108-97.
Alaska took the 400 yard medley relay thanks to Erika Kakazu, Kaia Norbye, Oda Bygdnes and Wanlaya Jarupakorn.
Norbye then secured the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.73 seconds, and Bygdnes won the 200 IM in 2 minutes and 10.85 seconds.
She then won the 100 yard butterfly in 56.8 seconds and was followed up by Kakazu winning the 100 yard backstroke in close to a minute flat.
Cassidy Heaton then took the 500 yard freestyle and Norbye won the 100 yard breaststroke.
Day 2 wasn't as kind to the Nooks who fell 110-94 against LMU.
They started with a victory in the 200 yard medley relay with the team of Kakazu, Norbye, Bygdnes and Whitney McArthur.
Norbye won the 50 yard freestyle in 24.88 seconds and the 100 yard free in 53.97 seconds.
The 200 yard backstroke was won by Kakazu in 2 minutes and 8.66 seconds, while the 200 yard breaststroke was claimed by Claire McElroy in 2 minutes and 35.98 seconds.
And to close out the series, Alaska won the 400 yard freestyle relay with Bygdnes, Kakazu, McArthur and Jarupakorn.
The next time the Nanooks hit the pool it will be in the PCSC Conference championships from February 13-16 in La Mirada, California.
