FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program start their postseason tomorrow with a first round matchup against the Northern Michigan Wildcats.
The Nooks come into this series as the seventh seed in the WCHA.
They finished the year with a 12-14-2 conference record and they are facing a Wildcats team that went 18-8-2 on the year.
Head coach Erik Largen spoke before they left on this first round matchup.

"We're really excited I think it's a good matchup with us and Northern. They play on an Olympic Sheet as well. They have a very top line with Troy Loggins and Adam Rockwood that are going to be hard to contain but I think we can do a good job on our checks against them. and give ourselves a good opportunity. They have a good goaltender in Tolvanen who we've had trouble with in the past but it's a fresh start. Everyone is 0-0. We're looking forward to the opportunity to play them on the road,” said Largen.

This playoff series starts tomorrow in Michigan at 3:07 p.m.
