The Alaska Nanooks drop their first game of the season

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks rifle program are in Texas for a series of matches, and the third ranked squad have so far split their games in the second biggest sate in the nation.
The Nanooks started their road trip with an impressive air rifle showcase against the UTEP Miners.
They beat the Miners 4647 to 4601, as J.T. Schnering led all shooters with 579 in the smallbore and 592 in the air rifle.
Alaska outshot the Miners 2350 to 2316 in the air rifle category.
The Nooks then fell to the TCU Horned Frogs today, as they were routed 4690 to 4649.
Alaska had only one shooter in the top 7, as Schnering had 1173 points, getting 584 in the smallbore and 589 in the air rifle.
Alaska will look to rebound with two matches against the Nevada Wolfpack for the next two days.
