FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program went down to Arizona State to face the Sun Devils, and returned with a sun burn and a two game losing streak.
The Nooks struggled in Game One, getting out shot 34-23, as the Sun Devils won 3-0.
In the middle of the first period, Arizona State scored two goals.
Then the Sun Devils closed the deal with a goal in the final two minutes.
Anton Martinsson gave up two goals, but he didn't have much help in the first, where the Nooks were outgunned 15-4.
Then in Game Two, the Sun Devils returned even stronger to win five to nothing.
Arizona State outshot the Nanooks 32 to 13, and the Sun Devils shutout Alaska again outscoring them 8-0 in the series.
The Nanooks will look to rebound at home against St. Cloud State University in a series this weekend at the Carlson Center.
