FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program has announced they are adding another assistant coach to their ranks, bringing in Joe Howe from Denver University.
Head Coach Erik Largen gets his second assistant, as Howe comes from the prestigious Pioneer program.
Howe served as a volunteer assistant coach and coached the goalies from 20-15 to 2017.
He was then upgraded to Director of Hockey Operations last season, and now comes to the Great North to help out with the Nanooks.
Howe played for Colorado College from 2009 to 20-13, appearing in 119 games and also finishing third in the all time saves list.
The Nooks are scheduled for a Blue and Gold game on Saturday, September 22 at the Patty Ice Center.
