FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2019 Ice Jam ended with the way it started, with the ACS Lions coming out and locking down an opponent with its daunting defense.
They took down the West Valley Wolfpack in the championship game to showcase their talents.
The Wolfpack fell 56-49 to the 3A powerhouse, as the Lion's defense limited their offense in the half court setting.
The major component to their success in the game came from long passes over the heads of the defense, as Jozey Martellaro found teammates far up the court and delivered some sweet dimes to generate some points.
Ellen Silva had herself a night against ACS, nearly getting a triple double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Silva, who is D-II commit to UAA, and the rest of the interior defense had a rough time limiting Jordan Todd who dropped 14 on them.
The next time the Wolfpack take the court, they will be facing the Lathrop Malemutes for a conference game at home on then 22nd.
