The 2019 Iditarod is coming to a close with Peter Kaiser leading the pack

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The 2019 Iditarod is close to finishing, as the mushers make their final dash to the finish line, in Nome.
In first, we have Peter Kaiser, who is out of the White Mountain checkpoint.​
The next two mushers are in White Mountain with Joar Leifseth Ulsom in second, while Jessie Royer sits in third.​
Out of Elim in fourth, we have Aliy Zirkle. In fifth, it is Matt Hall.​
Cindy Gallea is currently in the Red Lantern spot.​
The mushers who have dropped include: Nicolas Petit, Ryan Redington, Brett Bruggerman, Lev Shvarts, Robert Redington, Niklas Wilkstrand, Emily Maxwell, Marcelle Fressineau, Cindy Abbott, and Shaynee Traska.​
