Tuisaula has been a force for the SoHi Stars, leading the Stars to a state tournament appearance last season. Tuisaula is joining a UAF squad that has numerous players on the roster that come from Alaska.

"Family is a big thing for me," said Tuisaula. "I felt very strongly that Fairbanks was exactly that. I just felt like I would feel really confident and comfortable there."

So far, Head Coach Kerri Nakamoto has a recruiting class of Tuisaula, Destiny Reimers and Pearle Green. Tuisaula didn't think she would be playing D-II basketball, but was able to push through injuries to get to this point.

"It means honestly so much. I have had a really long journey getting to this point," said Tuisaula. "I've had to get through a lot of major injuries. I never really thought I would even play D-II and being offered was amazing. I'm excited to get better and play with my new team."

Alaska will now look to add more players to their recruiting class as Coach Nakamoto prepares for her third year leading the Blue and Gold.
