FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Eielson Ravens saw two of their football players sign their national letters of intent to play on the next level for the Mayville Comets on the NAIA level.
We start with Scott Fry, the local player who has starred for the Dirty Birds on the field.
Fry earned many awards, including Lineman of the Year in Alaska on the DIII level.
Fry helped the Ravens to numerous championship runs, and now takes that experience and resume to Mayville.
DeAndre Ford also signed his letter, going down to North Dakota with his closest friend.
Ford played a crucial part on Eielson's defense, giving the Dirty Birds a reliable, fast option to cover receivers.
Ford and Fry spoke about joining Mayville in the Fall.
"It's eye opening, didn't know if I was going to make it this far. I know the location pretty well it's just a nice town, and it feels good. Definitely I think that throughout youth football and high school it helped a lot. And especially to my family it's a big reason why I play football still," said Fry.
"Nah I didn't think I was going to play football at all. But it happened. It was a decision we made together, cost. Shout out to my mom," said Ford.
"Just my family and everyone, especially my family, and my brother. Big influence on my football career," said Fry.
