FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The North Pole Patriots couldn't find their footing in the 2019 baseball state tournament.
The Patriots got off to a rough start against the Chugiak Mustangs, as they lost 13-3 in the first round.
North Pole gave up six runs in the first inning, and they didn't find much offense until the top of the fourth where they scored three runs.
Alex Staker led the Patriots with two RBIs.
North Pole then took on the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears in the consolation bracket.
The Patriots struggled in the third and fourth innings against the Crimson Bears as they lost 11-1.
Caden Wyman got the lone RBI for the Patriots who take seventh in state.
The West Valley Wolfpack ended their tourney run with a loss to the Colony Knights in the consolation bracket.
The Wolfpack fell 8-4 to Colony, givng the red and gold a seventh place finish in state.
West Valley were down early to the Knights, who kept a three run lead throughout most of the game.
