Monroe Football forfeits second consecutive game

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) The Monroe Catholic Rams football program has decided to forfeit their second consecutive game due to lack of healthy players.

The scheduled Week 6 meeting with the Ketchikan Kings in Southeast, Alaska has been officially canceled.

Monroe has 15 players on its roster but do not have enough active players this week to take the field safely. Monroe also had to forfeit their Week 5 Aurora Conference match-up with the Barrow Whalers as they only had 11 healthy players ready on game day.

The Rams have had three total contests canceled this season; one due to poor air quality caused by wildfires in Alaska, and other two ruled as forfeits, giving Monroe a pair of losses.

Monroe’s next scheduled game is against the Valdez Buccaneers on September 28, at 1p.m. in Fairbanks.
