Maya Pelayo from the Lathrop Malemutes signed her NLI to join the Roberts Weselyan RedHawks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Lathrop Malemutes saw one of their own sign their National Letter of Intent to compete on the next level.
And that is Maya Pelayo.
Pelayo will be joining the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks for track and field and volleyball who compete on the Division II landscape.
The volleyball program play in the East Coast Conference, and this past season they went 4-10 in the ECC.
She will be on the track field team that compete in the ECC as well.
In their conference championships they finished in second out of 11 teams.
Pelayo has been a part of the Malemutes' program, and she spoke at her signing about the next chapter in her life.
"I'm really excited to be all the way on the East Coast, and just going to be a huge journey for me and yeah I'm just really excited to be near the Big Apple I'm excited, it's awesome. Man they all a part of me when I get on the court or if I get on the track you see a part of my character through them they built me into this person I am today I cannot thank the people around me enough it's made me a really strong person and all the potential," said Pelayo.
