FAIRBANKS, Alaska. (KTVF) Two cross-town rivals achieved the same milestone while competing on the court at the same time. Lathrop Malemutes' Ella Roberts and West Valley's Sheridan Blasey, both eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark in Tuesday's Mid Alaska Conference showdown.

Blasey’s moment came after a teammate of hers knocked the ball towards her and she hit the baseline jumper to 1,000 points.
"It kind of takes pressure off in a way. It was in the back of my mind, I wasn't trying to do it the whole time,” said Blasey on her milestone night. “I didn't even ask my mom where I was at, I was like 'don't tell me, don't tell me, I am just going to play basketball. It was awesome, I have worked hard a lot and my teammates keep pushing me so I proud of that."
Roberts hit the mark thanks to a free throw in the second half, and her teammates surrounded her to celebrate her accomplishment.
“I have the flu, so it wasn't my easiest game, but it was worth it,” said Roberts. “I have a great team, I am so grateful for them, and for our coaches, for all our fans and everyone, I am just really grateful."
The Malemutes won 46-36 behind TT Tagovailoa’s 17 points.
