Lathrop girls take down Bartlett behind Tagovailoa

FAIRBANKS, Alaska. (KTVF) The Lathrop girls made a statement in their 50-25 win over the 2019 state runner-ups with a fast paced defense. The Malemutes got numerous steals, and they led 18-4 at halftime.

They were led by TT Tagovailoa's 20 points as she was relentless on the fast break, and locked down Bartlett on defense. The starting lineup of TT, Ella Roberts, Lianna Tuck, Tristian Martin and Torrin Johnson-Oates showed the state they have a shot at making some noise in Alaska.

The next time Lathrop hits the court they will be hosting the Joe T Classic next week when they host the Barrow Whalers, Sitka Wolves and the Monroe Catholic Rams.

Ice Jam Recap
West Valley vs. Palmer
The West Valley Wolfpack girls basketball program is hosting the Ice Jam Tournament taking on the Kodiak Bears in the first round.

The Red and Gold got the 59-27 victory thanks to Sheridan Blasey's 14 points. The Wolfpack were up 42-9 at halftime, as the defense put on the clamps against their 3A foes. Rachel Cockman also chipped in 11 to help West Valley advance to the semifinals.

North Pole vs. Kodiak
The North Pole Patriots also competed in the Ice Jam, starting with a first round loss to the Palmer Moose.

North Pole lost 63-22 to the Moose, as Freshman Alicia Guzman led the team with 18 points. The Patriots struggled against their Mat-Su foes, as they had no answer for Palmer's size in the post.

Dimond Prep Shootout
West Valley vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears
The West Valley Wolfpack boys were in Anchorage for the Dimond Prep Shootout taking on the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears.

The Wolfpack won 77-46 over Juneau thanks to trio-effort from Javon Phillips, Terrell Peter and Dylan Erhart combining for 41 points. Other teams that advanced to the next round was the Grace Christian Grizzlies, Wasilla Warriors and the Dimond Lynx.
