Ice Dogs' home opener this weekend

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) "Super excited. Friday night the roof is going to be off the joint here. People here are hungry for hockey," said Ice Dogs' General Manager Rob Proffitt. "The team is going to be exciting to watch, I was on the road with them for half their trip. They fit the identity of our community and our building. They're blue collar and hard working. People are going to enjoy that. Ton of promotions with things going on in the rink. Just exciting as we continue to grow as a program."

This is the first time the Ice Dogs get to play in front of the home crowd. For Head Coach Trevor Stewart, he says the community serves as an important piece for the team.

"I guess first and foremost we're happy to be back in Fairbanks," said Head Coach Trevor Stewart. "Happy to be back playing at the Big Dipper Ice Arena. Our guys couldn't be more excited. We got things rolling a little bit our last four games. We're hoping to continue it into our home opener on Friday."

The Ice Dogs play the Minnesota Magicians this weekend, and they put their four game winning streak on the line. The series is set to start on Friday at 7:30 P.M.
