FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs have made a bit of a change to their coaching staff.
General Manager Rob Proffitt has announced the promotion of Scott Deur to Associate Head Coach.
Deur is entering his fourth season as a part of the Ice Dogs coaching staff, where he helped lead them to a Robertson Cup Championship in 2016.
He has been a major part of player development for the Ice Dogs and will now be an even more integral part of the organization.
The Ice Dogs start their season on Friday with a game against Chippewa Falls.

Scott Deur: "Just means I got to be a little more vocal on the ice, right; take more of a leadership role on the ice instead of, you know, kind of behind the scenes that I have been doing. So, when it comes down to that, that's about it, just making sure that I'm more vocal and closer to the guys, I guess. You know, it shows a lot of the organization to promote me, and it's a good feeling."

Rob Proffitt: "Scott, he's been very loyal, soldier to the program and, I think, is well deserving of this. As he would tell you, as Stew would tell you, we're not into titles but I think it's something that this says a little something about who he is, what he's meant to the program."
