FAIRBANKS, Alaska - This past weekend the Interior community said goodbye to a man who touched many lives.
Kenny Weeks passed away last Friday, and his presence was felt by numerous people here in town.
Whether it was his days as a coach through multiple schools, or his days as part of the Golden Heart Softball Association, Weeks well known in the community.
But most importantly, people remember him as a family man.
He followed his kids though the ups and downs of life, like following his youngest son to help coach the Monroe Catholic Rams football team when his son joined.
Much like Bill Russell in the 60's, Weeks had success as a player-coach, leading his coed team, "Hot Shots" to a state title in 2015.
Weeks is survived by his wife Sophia Weeks and his children, Misty Weeks, Adam Weeks, Celina Risner, Sarah Ames, Isaiah Weeks, Sam Weeks, and Grace Weeks.
Isaiah talked about his father's impact on them all.

Isaiah Weeks: "He had a little bit of part in everything. Everything from little league football, couple of championships there raising kids, from his own to even when family member was no longer involved he was still out there coaching. From high school to coaching young adults and that youth as well. To out here helping us grown men play softball so he had a little bit of everywhere. He was always a mentor for most best friend to everyone. It was a big deal."

Kenny Weeks' funeral service will start tomorrow at noon at the Chief Peter John Tribal Hall.
Weeks was 55 years old.
