Eielson and Monroe Split while West Valley Sweeps North Pole in conference double-headers

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Two Conference Double-headers highlighted last night's Basketball action here in the Interior, we'll start with the Aurora Conference Thriller that took place on Eielson Air Force Base.
The Eielson Ravens were victorious over the Monroe Catholic Rams in a 56-51 battle.
Monroe held a 25-22 lead at half but the Ravens were able to outscore their conference foes 18-15 in the third quarter, and 16-11 in the fourth to secure the win.
The Ravens saw three different players earn double-digit points.
Matthew Scarboro led the way with 17 while Christian Bolton finished with 13 and Brock Renson dropped 11.
Quinn McHenry led the Rams with an 18 point performance.
The Ravens are now 9-6 overall and 3-2 in Aurora Conference Play while Monroe falls to 10-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
In the girls game, Monroe dominated on their way to a 58-28 win.
Grace Hodges dropped 18 points for the Rams while Katie Bast finished with 15.
Tobias Page led the Ravens with 18 points.
Next up for these squads, Monroe will be hosting Delta tomorrow night while Eielson travels down to Seward for Tournament action.
A Mid Alaska Conference Twin Bill was also held outside City Limits, with the North Pole Patriots hosting the West Valley Wolfpack.
West Valley earned a sweep in this one by first taking a 56-31 win in the boys game.
Dylan Erhart was the scoring leader for the Wolfpack, finishing with 13 points while Isaiah Warner finished with 11.
Alex Garcia led North Pole with 14 points.
The Girls game soon followed and West Valley was dominant once again, defeating their MAC Foes 59-19.
The Pack jumped out to a 20-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back from there.
Sheridan Blasey led the way with 14 points while Ellen Silva and Hadley Blasey both finished with 10.
The Wolfpack Girls will now head down to Anchorage for tournament action at Dimond High School while North Pole will host Eielson on February 8th.
