The Alaska Nanooks got out to a fast start against the Seattle Pacific Falcons, holding a 26-14 lead after the first quarter. However, poor shooting throughout the rest of the game saw Alaska lose 83-70 to the Falcons. The third quarter put the Nooks in a hole as they were outscored 21-10.

Sam Tolliver, Jocelyn Gandara and Sabrina Ungaro combined for 62 points for the Nanooks, but the bench scoring only mustered up two for the night. Alaska drops to 1-3 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Alaska’s next GNAC match-up is on January 9 against the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks who are coming off a 80-48 win over the Montana State-Billings Yellowjackets.

The Alaska Nanooks were behind the eight ball early on against the Seattle Pacific Falcons, as they lost 86-68. Alex Sommerfield led the Nooks with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to offset their offense only getting 20% of their threes to go down.

Alaska was pretty good from the free throw line, going 22-23 led by Shadeed Shabazz’s 9-9 showing. This drops their record to 3-1 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

UAF’s next match-up is on January 9 against the Simon Fraser Clan who are coming off 75-57 loss to the Central Washington Wildcats.
