FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Goldpanners struggled on a cold and wet night, as their offense laid dormant against the Ventura Pirates.
The Panners had no fire at the plate, losing 6-0 to Ventura.
As a team, the Goldpanners had only 4 hits on the night.
The top 3 in the batting order had a rough time going, with Kyle Knell, Patrick Chung and Brett Harris combining for only 2 hits on 8 chances.
K-J Strickland couldn't keep the Pirates off the bases, giving up 9 hits and 6 runs in 7 innings of work.
