FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Another chapter in the rivalry between the West Valley Wolfpack and the Lathrop Malemutes was written last night with the two squads facing off on the turf fields.
In the boys' match, the game went down to wire as the Wolfpack won 3-2.
West Valley scored their game winner through a penalty kick thanks to Drew Rizk.
Both of Lathrop's goals came through penalty kicks done by Isaac Dershin.
In the girls' game, the Wolfpack were led by Aubrey Stacy and her five goals to 8-nil victory.
Stacy was all over on the attack, as her speed and strength broke down the Lathrop defense.
Lathrop found some offense to push into West Valley's back line but they couldn't find the back of the net.
West Valley now heads down South to face the Chugiak Mustangs.
Lathrop will also be hitting the road to face the Eagle River Wolves.
