FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Congressman Don Young was named the most effective member of the 115th Congress by the non-partisan Center for Effective Lawmaking. Young received the highest Legislative Effectiveness Score which is an analysis of bills they sponsor, how far they move in the lawmaking process, and how important the policy proposals are.
According to the Center for Effective Lawmaking, "relative to the average of 17 bills introduced by House lawmakers, Young put forth 62 pieces of legislation, 19 of which received some action in committee and 14 of which reached the floor. Of those, eight passed the House and five became law."
Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan were both named in the 'Top Ten' most effective Senate Republicans from the 115th Senate.
