FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A wind storm blew the top of a tree onto power lines earlier today (Fri).

According to Randy Clavell, owner of College Town Pizza, the tree hit the power line on Thomas Street near Phyllis Pendergrast’s dentistry. The tree top knocked out the electricity in the area, including the pizzeria, and caught on fire.
The power was out 45 minutes to an hour.
After GVEA and the Fairbanks Fire Department responded, the tree was removed and power was restored. There were no injuries to report.
