FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The newest Nanooks were celebrated Friday at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
UAF held 'New Admit Day' for those entering college in the fall to get familiar with their new campus.
The all-day event featured tours, resource information, and student success panels for incoming students.
The future 'Nooks got the chance to meet deans and professors while checking out student organizations and activities.
Transitioning to college can be challenging, so the more a student can get acquainted prior to the semester, the better.
"Sometimes there is a lot of anxiety and nervousness about finding your way around campus," Robert Wighs, Transition Programs Coordinator at UAF said.
"They are doing tours, they are checking out the food, which is great, and just connecting with our admission counselors, staff, faculty, advisors, its everything."
The first day of fall semester begins on August 26.
