FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We've learned in an email from the University of Alaska Fairbanks that both the UAF and UAA sports programs will play the 2019-2020 athletic schedules.
UAF Vice Chancellor, Keith Champagne, spoke on sports being played out.
"It's like a heavy burden has been lifted, not only from my shoulders but for the coaches' shoulders because our coaches work very hard to recruit the students they've brought in, those who have worked hard to bring in new assistants coaches. We just want to be able to move forward in a positive direction and to let our students know they will have a season. They will be able to invite their families and parents and loved ones and significant others to be a part of this wonderful experience. Because we're excited about the upcoming season we want to improve our game experience we want to have a different kind of fan experience. So it's just wonderful to be able to have that," said Champagne.
