FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The UA Board of Regents has approved tuition hikes for Alaska's university campuses.
On Thursday, the board announced that the main campuses tuition will increase to 5% starting next fall, and is scheduled to last two academic years.
Also next fall, Kodiak College and Prince William Sound College will be getting a 10% tuition increase, followed by a 9.5% increase in academic year 2020.
The board also approved a 25% tuition discount for occupational certificates and endorsements.
UA President, Jim Johnsen, says these increases are aimed at making campus tuition rates the same.
