Two cars burn at Airport Road Fred Meyer

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) The Fairbanks Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire at the Airport Road Fred Meyer Thursday evening. The fire eventually spread to a second car.

According to Fairbanks Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg Taylor, the fire was first reported around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.

By the time fire fighters arrived the car was fully engulfed in flames. The fire eventually spread to a second car before crews could extinguish the fire.

Taylor said no one was injured in the fire and that they are unsure of the cause but the investigation has concluded.

According to the Fairbanks Police Department, one of the passengers of the first car was intoxicated and became combative with fire fighters. The passenger was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
