Troopers Issue 428 Citations Over the Past Few Weeks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers have been out in force these past few weeks for the department's 'Holiday High Visibility Enforcement Effort'. They are halfway through this program and from December 13 to December 26, Troopers have made the following contacts:

There have been 18 misdemeanor DUI arrests and zero felony DUI Arrests.
Five drivers have been charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Over 30 'Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately', known as REDDI's, have been reported with nine drivers contacted and ultimately determined not to be DUI.
There have been 137 damage-only crashes, 13 injury crashes and two fatal collisions investigated by troopers.

Of the 428 citations issued, 148 were for speeding and seven for seat belt or other occupant restraint violations.
