FAIRBANKS, Alaska. (KTVF) In this week's edition of 'The Quarantine Kitchen' we are going to make homemade wheat bread.
The Quarantine Kitchen
Here is the recipe:
First we are going to pour about 2 1/2 cups of warm water.
1/4 of a cup of honey and about 3 1/4 cup of bread flour.
Next is 2 1/3 cup of whole wheat flour and 2 teaspoons of yeast.
Then we are going to stir it up before adding 1 tablespoon of salt.
We are going to knead the dough in the mixer for 8 minutes.
After that we are going to knead it some more with some extra flour, form it into a ball and place the dough into a well greased bowl for an hour.
Take the dough out and flatten it.
Then we are going to fold the dough into thirds and putting back into the bowl for 15 minutes.
Next we cut it in half to form two dough balls, covering those for 10 minutes.
Then we grease two loaf pans, form two oblong dough and let them rest for 60 minutes.
Before the dough is ready preheat the oven to 475 degrees, and put a tray of water under the rack 10 minutes before it is ready.
Put the loaves in at 450, and bake for 12 minutes.
Remove the tray, reduce to 425 and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the loaves from the pans and let them cool before cutting.
