ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage man who spent three years in jail awaiting trial on murder charges has been acquitted. The Anchorage Daily News reports a jury Thursday acquitted 37-year-old Thomas Skeek, who had been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the disappearance of his wife, 32-year-old Linda Skeek. Linda Skeek's family believes she is dead. Her body has not been found. Defense attorney Emily Cooper told jurors that the state could not even prove that Linda Skeek was dead.

BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - Searchers have recovered the body of a village man missing on a snowmobile trip in southwest Alaska. The body of 48-year-old Timothy Beebe of Quinhagak (KWIN-ah-gahk) was recovered Thursday from the Kanektok (KAN-ek-tok) River. Beebe at about 7 p.m. March 23 left Eek for Quinhagak. Alaska State Troopers and National Guard members in Bethel launched a search the next day. Searchers dragging a net by boat on Wednesday found Beebe's submerged snowmobile just outside Quinhagak.

On 03/22/19, at approximately 1028 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a gray Toyota Tundra in the ditch on the Airport Way off Ramp onto the Mitchell Expressway. AST responded, and Investigation revealed the driver and sole occupant was a 17 year old male with an Instructional Permit. A responsible party was called and responded to recover the Juvenile and vehicle. The Juvenile was issued a Misdemeanor Citation for Driving in Violation of an Instructional Permit.

On 3/23/19 at approximately 1927 hours, Soldotna AST received report of a disturbance in the area of Eagleson Avenue in Sterling. Investigation revealed Brittney Fattore, age 29 of Seward, had physically assaulted her boyfriend and damaged property. Subsequent investigation showed Fattore was on conditions of release and was in violation of those conditions. Fattore was ultimately arrested for Assault in the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 5th degree, Interfering with Report of a DV Crime, Unlawful Contact in the 2nd degree, and VCOR. Fattore was transported to Wildwood Pretrial and held without bail.
