ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A Matanuska-Susitna Borough man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a man at a highway pullout. Anchorage television station KTVA reports 38-year-old Justin Brunsvold of Houston killed 32-year-old Patrick McMullen on Nov. 2, 2017, near Mile 59 Parks Highway. Assistant district attorney Kerry Corliss said the homicide was connected to debts related to drugs and thefts. Brunsvold pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a Wasilla man in the shooting death of his father on Christmas Eve. A Palmer grand jury on Friday indicted 23-year-old Mark Myers on two counts of second-degree murder and one of manslaughter in the death of 51-year-old Julian Myers of Wasilla. Alaska State Troopers arrested Mark Myers on Tuesday. Troopers on Dec. 24 received a report of shots fired during a disturbance at a home southwest of Wasilla and found the elder Myers dead.
On 03/21/19, at approximately 1415 hours, a 57 year old male from Fairbanks called Alaska State Troopers to report that a 6HP outboard boat motor was stolen from his residence located on Moon Mullen Ln. Investigation revealed one or more suspects entered the property and removed the boat motor from under its covering. On 3/28/19 at approximately 0400 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance on Birch Cove Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Amber Montelongo, age 28 of California, recklessly caused physical injury to a domestic partner. Montelongo was arrested for one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree Domestic Violence, and one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree. She was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded into custody without bail.

On 3/28/2019 at approximately 0111 hours, Soldotna AST stopped a 2011 red Chevrolet pickup for a moving violation at the intersection of KBeach Road and the Sterling Highway. Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of 25 year old Ashly Rose of Wasilla for an outstanding arrest warrant for probation violations on an original charge of Theft 2. Ashly Rose was additionally charged with False Information after she attempted to conceal her identity with a false name and further charged with MICS 4 when she was found to be in possession of a schedule IA controlled substance. Ashly Rose was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility where she was held in lieu of $1000 bail.
