JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A 39-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in a fatal Juneau stabbing. Fenton Jacobs was charged Friday in the death of 47-year-old William Campbell. Juneau police took a 911 call shortly before 12:30 a.m. Thursday reporting a downtown fistfight. A minute later, a second call came in reporting the stabbing. Campbell was rushed to Bartlett Regional Hospital in critical condition and put on a medical flight to Seattle. He died on the flight.

On 05-02-19 at approximately 2345 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Ryan Pearson, age 27 of Fairbanks, on Steelhead Road in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Pearson was violating his conditions of release and also had an outstanding arrest warrant for VCOR. Pearson was arrested on the warrant as well as one (1) count of VCOR A.S. 11.56.757(a) and was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. Bail was set at $500.

On 5/3/2019, at approximately 0006 hours, Fairbanks AST attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet Impala traveling southbound on the Richardson highway for a traffic violation. The vehicle then sped up, reaching speeds in excess of 130mph. The vehicle was unable to maintain its lane and failed to stop for traffic signals. The vehicle came to a stop, and the driver was identified as Briana Smith, age 25 of Anchorage. Investigation revealed that Briana was driving while under the influence of alcohol. After being transported to the Fairbanks AST post, Briana refused to provide a breath sample. Briana was charged with fail to stop at the direction of a peace officer, DUI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Briana was remanded to FCC without bail.

On 5/2/2019, at approximately 2239 hours, Fairbanks AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Badger Rd. Investigation revealed the driver, Halona Cosgrove, age 40 of Fairbanks, had multiple outstanding AST warrants. Halona was placed under arrest and remanded to FCC on her warrants, as well as 5 counts of Violating Conditions of Release.

On 5/3/2019 at approximately 1100 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted Shaun Jones, age 33 of Akiak. Investigation revealed that Shaun had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for the original charges of Sexual Assault In the 2nd degree and Failure to appear. Shaun was located by AST after he attempted to absconded and hide in a steam house. Shaun was arrested and remanded to YKCC and held on $20,500 bail.

On 5/2/19 at approximately 1425 hours Troopers responded to a request for assitance from the Pretrial Enforcement Division. Officers had been attempting to contact a client with multiple felony warrant for her arrest named April Murray, age 34 of Houston. When Pretrial officers arrived on scene Murray fled inside of a house and refused to come out. Troopers arrived on scene and obtained a search warrant for the residence. With the assistance of K9 Skippy Troopers cleared the residence and found Murray hiding under a bed in the back of the house. Murray was arrested on multiple outstanding felony warrants and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility on $10100 bail.

On 5-2-19 at about 1330 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Kotzebue received a report from the Northwest Arctic Borough (NWAB) SAR group of an overdue snowmachiner. It was reported that Alvin Williams, age 52 of Ambler, had departed Ambler alone on a single snowmachine to the village of Kobuk at about 0300 hours on 5-2-19. A travel distance of about 30-40 miles. NWAB snowmachine searchers from Kobuk and the Alaska State Trooper plane from Kotzebue began searching the area. At about 1540 hours his snowmachine was located on the river trail. It had fallen through the ice and was submerged in water, about a mile south of Kobuk. Williams was not located and is suspected of going into the flowing river current and possibly under the ice. Ground search teams are currently searching the area and at exposed water openings downstream from the snowmachine. Williams has not been able to be located after a second day of searching. Immediate family is on scene and assisting at the search location.

On 05/03/2019 at approximately 0048 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to the report of a disturbance at a Sterling residence. 49 year old Kurt Nelson of Sterling was contacted during the investigation and was found to have intentionally damaged a cell phone belonging to a household member. Subsequent to the investigation, Nelson was arrested, transported, and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on the charge of domestic violence Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

On 5/1/2019 at approximately 0945 hours, Soldotna Based Alaska State Troopers received a call from Wildwood Pretrial reporting a male who was a new inmate at Wildwood had a controlled substance on his person. The male was identified as Joshua Jensen age 32 from Anchorage. Joshua Jensen was remanded for promoting Contraband in the 1st degree.

Arraignment for the offense was set for Monday, May 13, 2019, at 1000 hours in the Haines District Court.
