ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A former PTA treasurer at an Anchorage elementary school has been charged with stealing more than $7,100 from the group. Kayla Faaloua is charged with theft and misapplication of property at William Tyson Elementary School. Anchorage Police Department Detective Michele Logan in a criminal complaint says thefts occurred between April and July 2017 when Faaloua controlled the PTA bank account. Faaloua's attorney, public defender Samuel Gottstein, said Thursday he had no comment on the case.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A 38-year-old Fairbanks motorcycle driver died when his bike crashed northeast of the city. Alaska State Troopers say Alexander Holder died in the accident late Tuesday night. A witness told troopers that Holder was traveling at high speed on the Old Steese Highway when he lost control and drove into trees. He crashed and was ejected into a creek.

On 05/22/2019 at about 2318 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a Ford Pick-Up near the intersection of Schoenbar Road and Water Street. The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that the driver, Brandon Reinke, age 34 of Ketchikan had an outstanding warrant for his arrest reference the original charge of No Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance. Reinke was also found to be operating a motor vehicle while his license was Revoked. Reinke was transported and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center and also issued a traffic citation for DWLR.

On 05/22/2019 at about 2210 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a Welfare Check on a male who was observed sitting down and falling asleep on the side of the road at mile 2 of the South Tongass Highway. Investigation revealed that Daniel Charles, age 53 of Ketchikan was violating current conditions of release set by the Ketchikan Courthouse by being intoxicated by alcohol. The original charges stem from Assault 4th Degree, and Harassment 1st Degree. Charles was arrested and remanded to Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $250.00.

On 5/22/19 at approximately 2055 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Wolverine Dr. in Wasilla for a disturbance. An investigation revealed Brandon Sim, age 22 of Wasilla, had assaulted another person, by recklessly causing physical injury. Charges will be forwarded to the Palmer District Attorney’s office for review.

On 5/22/2019 at approximately 2135 hours, AST responded to a disturbance on Larry Trail Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Ashley Bell, age 34, of Anchorage, damaged property at the residence. Bell was subsequently arrested for Criminal Mischief V (DV). Bell was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded without bail.

On 5/20/2019 at approximately 2011 hours, I responded to a disturbance on Shirley Ann Circle in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Lottie Olemaun, age 42, of Wasilla, shoved a male outside the residence causing him to fall backward into a window. The male had minor injuries on his hand. Olemaun was subsequently arrested for Assault in the 4th degree (DV) and transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded without bail.

On 5/22/2019 at approximately 1956 hours, Alaska State Troopers stopped a black 2015 Ford Edge for erratic driving near milepost 11 Kenai Spur Road. Jessica Elise Taylor, age 34 of Nikiski was identified as the driver. Investigation revealed Taylor was driving the car while impaired and under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested for DUI and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility, to be released when sober.

On 5/22/19 at 0759 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers were on patrol on the Little Su River near Schrock Road and made contact with Dave Teddy Howard, age 31 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Howard had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Both warrants were issued on the original charge of Theft IV. Howard was arrested on the warrants, transported to and remanded in the MSPT with his bail set at $200.00 cash only.
