FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - A 60-year-old Fairbanks woman died in a weekend traffic crash. Alaska State Troopers say Cynthia Durham died. Troopers on Friday night took a call of a car driving erratically. A witness said the car drove off an embankment and rolled near Mile 7.5 Steese Highway. Troopers and emergency medical responders found Durham dead at the scene.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A former Alaska high school baseball star has died after being struck by a car in California. The Anchorage Daily News reported Sunday that 19-year-old Sladen Mohl died Thursday night in Torrance, California. Police say Mohl was standing on an island separating lanes near an intersection when a Toyota Highlander ran a red light and struck him. Police say a 16-year-old is suspected of driving under the influence. Mohl was a 2017 all-conference player for South High School in Anchorage.

On 04/21/2019 between 1600-1715 hours the Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report about a backpack containing a laptop, a camera, and shooting supplies were stolen from the S. Cushman Shooting Range in Fairbanks. The owner of the vehicle was using the shooting range when his vehicle was broken into. On 4-21-19 at 0007 hours, Troopers responded to a residence on Airline Drive in North Pole and contacted Andrew Vavra, 41 of North Pole. Andrew had an outstanding felony warrant for Theft II and Criminal Mischief III. Andrew was arrested and remanded at FCC where he was held on $2500 bail.

On 04-20-19 at approximately 2335 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks contacted Carols Quintero, age 21 of Fairbanks, at a residence on 21st Ave in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Quintero had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for Driving Under the Influence and Assault 3rd Degree. Quintero was arrested on the warrant and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. Bail was set at $5000.

On 4/21/19 at approximately 0121 hours AST responded to a residence at Lakeview Terrace Trailer Park for a possible domestic disturbance. AST contacted Jacob Hebard, age 23, of Fairbanks. During the investigation, Hebard assaulted two Alaska State Troopers with a knife. Jacob was subsequently placed under arrest for Assault 3 (x2), Violating Conditions of Release (x3), and was remanded to FCC with no set bail. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

On 4/21/19 at approximately 0540 hours AST responded to a residence on Dawson Rd, North Pole, for a possible domestic disturbance. It was also reported a firearm was discharged during the disturbance. North Pole Police and AST responded, contacting Carl Anasogak, age 49, of North Pole. The investigation revealed Anasogak physically assaulted a family member, causing them to discharge a firearm in self-defense. Anasogak was placed under arrest for Assault 2 DV, Assault 4 DV, and Criminal Mischief 3 DV and remanded to FCC with no set bail. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

On April 19, 2019 at approximately 2121 hours, The Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received a report of a vehicle driving erratically, that eventually drove into an embankment and rolled into the ditch. EMS and AST responded. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver was identified as Cynthia Durham, age 60 of Fairbanks. Next of kin has been notified and the investigation continues.

On 04-20-19 at approximately 0332 hours, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks conducted a traffic stop on a 1991 Chevrolet pickup for a moving violation on Geist Road in Fairbanks. Investigation revealed Nicolas Streiffert, age 24 of Fairbanks, and was operating the vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Streiffert was arrested on one count Driving Under the Influence and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center. Bail was set at Own Recognizance.

On 4-20-19 at approximately 0133 hours, Troopers contacted a vehicle on Dennis Road in North Pole. The driver was identified as Allen Elam, 38 of North Pole. The passenger was identified as Dorthy Garcia, 36 of North Pole. Elam was arrested for an outstanding Felony warrant and remanded at FCC. Garcia was arrested for an outstanding Felony warrant as well as an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and remanded at FCC.

On 04/20/2019 at approximately 1930 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a disturbance-after-the-fact originating at a Kasilof residence. The investigation determined that 37 year old James Barber of Kenai had assaulted a female and intentionally damaged a vehicle on scene. Subsequent to the investigation Barber was arrested, transported, and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on the charges of Assault in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fifth Degree, and Tampering with or Damaging a Vehicle with a set bail of $500.

On 4/20/19, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Vonda St near Soldotna. During the traffic stop, troopers contacted Tyler Sargent, 19, of Soldotna, as well as an underage female, and determined that they were both in possession of controlled substances. Both Sargent and the female were charged with Misconduct Involving Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, and Sargent was also charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

On 04/20/2019 at about 2148 hours, the Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a green Ford Pick-up in the 2500 Block of Tongass Avenue. The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that the driver a 17 year old, male juvenile was in possession of Marijuana, hash Oil, and LSD. The juvenile was released to his guardian. Charges are being forwarded to Juvenile Intake.
