Sierra College football player from Fairbanks, victim of shooting in Fair Oaks

Former West Valley Wolfpack player Chancelor Fields-Colbert, was shot and killed in Fair Oaks, California early Sunday morning. At around 1:30 A.M. shots were fired at a party after a fight broke out.

According to witnesses, the shooter was wearing a hoodie and a red sweater. One witness says the weapon was a small caliber gun. Fields-Colbert was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Many of his friends and family would call him Chance and he got his start up here in Fairbanks. He played numerous sports for the West Valley Wolfpack. He was part of a dominant defense for the football team and he was a glue guy for the basketball program. He signed his national letter of intent last year to play for Sierra College in California.

Fields-Colbert was going into his sophomore season with the Wolverines.
