Seward has declared state of emergency due to heavy flooding

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The city of Seward has declared a state of emergency due to heavy flooding in the area.
According to the Seward Police Department, multiple roadways as well as the Seward Airport are closed due to the down pour that has put more than 5 inches of still water in some places.
The Seward school system announced early closure today and it is expected they will be closed tomorrow.
Although the flood advisory is expected to end tomorrow night, it might be short-lived.
According to the national weather service, the area has a 90 percent chance of heavy rain on Thursday night.
